Former President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The president stated he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump told the press. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”

“She was the type of pupil that educators wished for. She behaved with quiet strength, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Officials have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the government to suspend asylum applications and cease providing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

Attorney general Bondi told a news show that she aimed to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with honor, as stated by the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey told the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
