Militiamen chuckle as they move on the back of a transport truck, racing by a series of several lifeless forms and moving towards the descending Sudan's evening sky.

"Look at such effort. Observe this act of genocide," one cheers.

The individual smiles as he points the recording device on himself and his fellow fighters, their paramilitary insignia visible: "They shall all perish in this manner."

These individuals are rejoicing over a mass killing that humanitarian officials believe claimed the lives of over two thousand civilians in the Sudan's city of el-Fasher during October.

A City Cut Off from the Outside

After maintaining the community under siege for approximately 24 months, from the summer the militia moved to consolidate its control and blockade the remaining residents.

Space-based imagery reveal that forces commenced to erect a massive earth barrier - a built-up sand barrier - encircling the boundaries of el-Fasher, blocking roads and halting humanitarian assistance.

During the encirclement worsened, seventy-eight individuals were slain in an militia strike on a mosque on September 19th, while the international organization stated 53 additional were killed in aerial and cannon bombardments on a displacement camp in fall.

Explicit Footage Reveals Defenseless People Executed

In the early morning on October 26th the militia conquered the last army strongholds and captured the main base in the urban area, the headquarters of the Army Division, as the government forces retreated.

Perhaps the most horrific recordings to appear and studied revealed the aftermath of a mass killing at a university building on the western side of the community, where numerous lifeless forms were observed strewn over the area.

A senior man dressed in a white tunic was seated alone surrounded by the bodies. The man looked to glance as a fighter armed with a rifle walked down the steps in the direction of him. lifting his weapon, the gunman released a solitary bullet at the individual, who dropped to the floor still.

"For what reason is this one still breathing," a militiaman exclaimed. "Execute this one."

Orbital photography taken on late October appeared to confirm that executions were furthermore conducted on the roads of el-Fasher, based on a analysis issued by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.

A key observer who provided testimony stated they had witnessed "many of our kin being massacred - these individuals were gathered in a single location and everyone killed."

Paramilitary Commanders Seek to Implement Public Relations

During the period that came after the massacre, RSF commander admitted that his troops had committed "violations" and said the incidents would be examined.

Part of the arrested was subsequent to a investigation documenting his killings. Carefully choreographed and edited footage posted on the paramilitary's authorized Telegram account depict the individual being taken into a detention area at a jail on the perimeter of al-Fashir.

Meanwhile, the militia and associated digital accounts started trying to reframe the story.

Posts presenting its fighters providing supplies to inhabitants were circulated by various accounts, while the militia's media office released numerous recordings allegedly to display the compassionate treatment of government detainees.

Regardless of the digital campaign being deployed by the RSF, their activities in al-Fashir have generated global anger.
