Iran Reports Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is unclear and the United States has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
