Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
