British tennis star Emma Raducanu ends this year's campaign and has decided to continue with coach into the 2026 season.
Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four major tournaments this year.
Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from her final two events this season because of a medical condition she has been battling in recent days.
Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.
Her upcoming training are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.
Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.
She again required medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.
Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the deciding set in the match with Zhu because of the lower back problem that has been a concern at times this year.
Those results meant an encouraging season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after a long gap in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.
Raducanu had three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.
Raducanu won 28 victories during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March.
The British number one reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way then falling in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.
Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.
The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.
Raducanu told that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.
She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.
The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
